Word from our Guest exhibitor
Many thanks for the invitation to select your exhibition this year. It has been a real privilege and I have been really delighted to see such an eclectic range of scale and forms, and various techniques used in your pottery group submissions. I had to take time to ponder my stand -out favourites, as most pieces had elements of what I love about clay.
To take a lump of the earth and let human hands create something from it, something that when fired, is permanently enduring, that will last a life time and more, is a very rewarding and fulfilling action. We are lucky to have found clay, the earth’s most fundamental material, in our lives. Happy potting everyone!

These expressive faces are engaging, especially their eyes. The attention to detail and matt surface of each form deserves further inspection. I was intrigued by their title too suggesting to the viewer that you can view from either side of the mask, who’s looking at who etc …“You are me, I am you” -Jane McCulla

Lisbeth Hansen
I’m a big fan of texture on clay and Lisbeth has incorporated her textures beautifully in her forms particularly Blue Bowl. The scale and combination of the textured outer surface and the richly blue smooth interior is outstanding. It has a real depth to it like gazing into a deep pool. - Jane McCulla

Jen Seymore -Merit 3
Very successful combination of naturally sourced materials as mixed media with ceramic form. Subtle textures and colours on the fired clay are accented in the hand made twine, feathers and shell. I can recognize a strong creative talent and skill to construct these objects. - Jane McCulla

These vessels are beautifully voluptuous or rotund and the surfaces capture a real essence of clay being from the earth.
I like the clay material to be partially exposed and not totally encapsulated with glaze. The hand- built forms and matt surface with crazed slip application are very successfully executed and look so wonderful as a grouping, it would be a challenge to choose a favourite.
